In the early 90's, I moved to Texas for family reasons, and it didn't take long to discover that working with wool in 100 degree heat was not inspiring.
Texas is an amazingly creative place. The stark yet beautiful landscape clears the mind. I soon realized that texture and color were still my main interest but I needed to find a new way to work with it.
Abstract work became the new way for me. It is a way that many artists eventually take in looking for the inner vision. Textured and painted papers and the resulting collages seem to be a natural evolution for many.
Whether you consider yourself an artist or not, I highly recommend trying paint and collage. It will take you to the highest places in your heart.
